HELLO RITA!!!
First, amazing video. Really amazing.
Obviously I have chosen to go the route to be public on my blog. I've done a lot of soul searching and discussing this topic with Jon and we feel the things we share are things people could see them doing at Target, at a park, or elsewhere in public.
But I know others do not feel this way so I do not post pictures of other people's children on my blog. I wonder if you could make it clear when people take videos or pics of X that it should not be uploaded to public without your express consent? Very hard to do, but we do need to be careful.
Laura, I wonder HOW I would go about telling people my feelings on such things. We were in a public place and there were dozens of people watching him. I noticed people had cameras, but I'm not sure I could have controlled who video taped him. All the videos I found of him, I emailed the people that posted and made mention that I'm a little nervous having his image out there like that. He plays disc golf daily, and people watch him, and I notice some try and take pictures. I wonder how much I can truly control it. We'll see...
Hey Stranger!
I don't know that you can prevent people from posting pictures or videos that are taken in a public place, but I think you might be able to follow-up with YouTube and tell them that he's your kid and you did not authorize this video to be out there.
I'm super freaky about posting pictures or videos of my kids online. It's just my prerogative. I just recently started a blog for our family, but it's by invitation only, it's not open for general viewing. It took me a long time to get comfortable enough to do even that.
I think ultimately if your gut says you're not okay with this, then you need to follow-up when you find something. There's no way to prevent it, unless you want to live in complete isolation. ; ) But you can chose how you respond to it.
Hope to see you around more often!
